C.S.P.E.  promotes  active  citizenship  and  social  responsibility  in  students  up  to  Junior  Cert  Level.  The  core  concepts  provide  the  framework  within  which  students  can  explore  diverse  issues  such  as  Human  rights  &  Responsibility,  Dignity,  Stewardship,  Development,  Democracy,  law  and  Interdependence.
The  Action  Project  component  encourages  students  to  become  actively  involved  investigating,  researching  and  compiling  information  on  such  issues.  It  gives  students  the  opportunity  to  develop  their  social  skills  through  event  management,  fundraising,  problem  solving  and  interaction  with  members  of  the  wider  community.
C.S.P.E.  raises  the  students  awareness  of  their  future  potential  roles  within  their  local  communities  from  humble  committee  members  to  perhaps  the  elected  representatives !
