Sport plays a very important part of school life at St Mary's.

The school has a very strong tradition in gaelic games having had success at all levels in both hurling and football.

Recent successes include U-16 South Leinster A title last year, reaching the All Ireland B final in 04 and All Ireland Senior Hurling B champions in 1998.

Several of the current Laois Panel have passed through the doors of the CBS and have enjoyed many happy memories playing School games.

The school remains committed to fostering this tradition and special mention must go to those teachers that give of their time after school to help our teams.
