On Tuesday the 13th of December the Portlaoise CBS U16  footballers played Colaiste Iostagain Portarlington in their first match of the U16 south Leinster championship at the Heath GAA grounds , Portlaoise CBS were victorious with a scoreline of 3-8 to 1-4 .

The Portlaoise CBS team was very strong, the backs defended very well with Joe Lacey at corner back, Eoin Phelan at centre back and Shane Smith at wing back gave a great account of themselves. The midfield held the upper hand in that part of the field and the forwards proved to strong for the Portarlington defence with Jack brown and Mark Dunne scoring 3-2 between them.
